Springdale Dining, Attractions & Things to Do

Revitalized Emma Avenue in Downtown Springdale

Discover NWA's emerging destination—Commercial Street dining, Sassafras Springs Vineyard, the arts district, and authentic cultural experiences.

Welcome to Springdale—NWA's emerging food and arts destination and the region's most authentically diverse city. With a population exceeding 85,000, Springdale is NWA's second-largest city, and its Commercial Street corridor is rapidly establishing itself as the region's most exciting dining destination.

The city's remarkable diversity—home to substantial Marshallese, Hispanic, Vietnamese, and other immigrant communities—has created an exceptional international food scene unmatched anywhere in Arkansas. Meanwhile, the revitalized downtown arts district is bringing creative energy to historic buildings, and Sassafras Springs Vineyard adds wine country sophistication to the rolling Ozark hills. Rx Catering NWA is excited to partner with Springdale's growing community of venues and event spaces.

The Underdog City Rising

For decades, Springdale was known primarily as the home of Tyson Foods—the world's largest meat processor, which Don Tyson built from his father's small chicken business into a global food giant. The company's massive processing operations attracted a diverse workforce from around the world, making Springdale one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the South.

While Bentonville had Crystal Bridges and Fayetteville had the university, Springdale lacked cultural cachet. That is changing rapidly. The Tyson Family Foundation has invested heavily in downtown revitalization, recognizing that the company's hometown deserves the same quality of life as its NWA neighbors. Luther George Park and the redesigned Emma Avenue corridor have become community gathering spots, replacing vacant lots with fountains, public art, and gathering spaces.

Springdale's diversity is now its greatest asset. The city is home to the largest Marshallese population outside the Marshall Islands—over 15,000 Pacific Islanders who have built a vibrant community here. Combined with substantial Hispanic and Vietnamese populations, this has created an authentic international food scene unmatched in the region. For $2 tacos that rival any in Texas, or pho that rivals any big city, Springdale is NWA's best-kept secret.
