Tonitown Winery Vineyard tontitown winery vineyard
  • History: Founded by Italian immigrants led by Father Pietro Bandini in 1898
  • Wines: Famous for Muscadine, Concord, and fruit wines grown on-site
  • Atmosphere: Housed in the historic "Taldo House" with a spacious outdoor patio
  • Tastings: Free wine tastings offered 7 days a week
  • Events: Live music on weekends and the annual Grape Festival

Tontitown Winery is more than a place to drink wine; it is a living monument to the resilience and culture of the Italian families who settled this region. Surrounded by the rolling hills of Springdale, the winery invites visitors to experience "La Dolce Vita" right here in Northwest Arkansas. The winery operates out of the former home of the Taldo family, built in 1917, preserving the architectural charm of the era.

The Tontitown Legacy

In the late 19th century, a group of Italian families sought refuge and a new life in the Arkansas Ozarks. Despite initial hardships, they found the climate perfect for vineyards. Today, the winery continues this agricultural tradition, producing wines from the same grape varietals brought over largely by those early settlers.

Inside the winery, the Tontitown Historical Museum features photographs, tools, and artifacts that tell the story of the community's founding and growth.
